FIRST TIME INSTALLING AN APK?
From download to your first entry.
An APK is an Android app installation file. During this test, you install Evidence Locker from this website instead of the Play Store. You only need to allow installation for the browser or file app you use.
Download the Android app Open customer care
Already have Evidence Locker?
Open Settings → Backup & cloud account → Save a complete local backup. Save that ZIP somewhere private. Keep the existing app installed; the update is designed to preserve your entries.
Download on your Android phone
Open this website on the phone and tap Download the Android app. If your browser asks whether to download an APK, confirm only if you recognize this Evidence Locker source. This file cannot be installed on an iPhone or iPad.
Open the download
Tap the completed download notification. Or open your browser's Downloads, or the phone's Files/My Files app → Downloads, and tap EvidenceLocker.apk.
Allow this installation source if asked
Android may say your phone cannot install unknown apps from this source. Tap Settings and allow the browser or Files app to install apps, then go back. Wording varies by phone. You do not need to allow every app or disable Play Protect. If a security or work-device policy blocks installation, keep the protection enabled and contact support.
Choose Install or Update
Choose Install for a first installation, or Update if Evidence Locker is already on the phone. Do not uninstall the old app to resolve an error. Wait for installation to finish, then tap Open.
Check your entries and secure the app
If updating, confirm your existing entries are present. In Settings you can enable a PIN and supported biometric unlock. You can also turn off “Allow from this source” afterward in your phone's special app-access settings.
Create or sign in to your account
Open Settings → Backup & cloud account → Create account on website. Choose an account name and password, and agree to the linked Terms and Privacy. An account is required to activate the current app; cloud sync remains optional. Return to the app and sign in with that account. Your cloud password is separate from the app PIN.
Turn on two-way live sync
Switch on Two-way live sync and confirm. Keep the app open until it says Up to date. It checks for app and website changes about every 3 seconds while open. Offline changes retry when connected; reopen the app to resume. On a new phone, choose Skip for now during family setup, sign into the same cloud account, and enable sync to download the saved journal and attachments. Every device needs version 1.4.4 or newer. For an internet test, turn off Wi-Fi and use cellular data.

The Google Play release is being prepared and is not available yet. Check release availability.
If installation does not finish
“App not installed” or “package conflicts”: do not delete the existing installation. Send the error and your installed version to customer care so signing/version compatibility can be checked.
File will not open: confirm the file ends in .apk, the download completed, and you are using an Android phone with Android 7.0 or newer. Try downloading again from this page.
Cloud connection unavailable: local records stay on the phone. This pilot relies on its host PC and internet connection at GetEvidenceLocker.com; retry later and keep a local backup.
